This review is from: Noctua NH-L12 Low-profile Quiet CPU Cooler with 120/90mm Dual PWM Fan (Personal Computers)

    System:
    Case: Thermaltake LANBOX VF1000SWA
    PSU: Seasonic SS-460FL
    GPU: PowerColor AX6870 2GBD5-6DG Eyefinity 6 Edition
    CPU: LGA775 Intel Core 2 Q9650 (w/ Speedstep enabled)
    RAM: G.Skill DDR2 8GB (4x 2GB)
    Motherboard: ASUS P5E-VM HDMI
    HDD: 3.5″ SAMSUNG EcoGreen F4 HD204UI 2TB

    Heatsink Setup:
-Both fans mounted (120mm Top, 92mm Bottom)
-Did not use the included Low Noise Adapters
-Orientation: Heatpipes pointing towards the rear (near the rear case fans). Since the case is not standing vertically I think this orientation is ok. **This orientation is not recommended for cases that are stood vertically by Noctua**

    Case Setup:
2x Rear 60mm Vantec SF6025L (Using a resistor cable 3-pin to drop it from 12V down to 5-7v for low noise)
1x Front 92mm Scythe DFS922512M (Using a resistor cable 3-pin to drop it from 12V down to 5-7v for low noise)
    – Removed the HDD cage (for improved airflow from the front of the case)
    – No internal CD-Rom, use External

Results: I used OCCT (v4.2 as of this review) to perform the CPU test (about 5-6 hours on CPU:OCCT). On idle/non CPU instensive task this setup hovers at 47C, during the CPU test temps did not go past 67C. This is with both fans mounted (92mm Height) with just a slight small clearance right below the PSU for this case. The loudest component in this setup is from the videocard stock heatsink fan. I highly recommend this Heatsink for the Low Profile setups.

    Pros:
    – Clear Instructions, a separate foldout instructions is included for the supported Sockets (Intel LGA2011, LGA1366, LGA115x, LGA775) (AMD (backplate required) AM2(+), AM3(+), FM1)
    – High Quality TIM provided
    – Low Noise Adapters included
    – Removable Top fan to reduce the profile of the heatsink to 66mm (Single Fan Mode) (92mm w/ Top fan)
    – Finished fins (so you don’t cut yourself easily)

    Cons:
    – Can’t think of any.

This review is from: Noctua NH-L12 Low-profile Quiet CPU Cooler with 120/90mm Dual PWM Fan (Personal Computers)

    Pros:

    Excellent Cooling Performance For Low-Profile
    Included Bundle Is Perfect
    Design Feels Super Sturdy
    Installation Is A Breeze

    Cons:

Too Expensive For the Target Consumer Group

Stylish CPU Cooler? Check. Excellent Cooling Performance? Check. Easy to Install And Fit In My Case? Check… Is there much else to say? Well, yes, but that pretty much sums it up.

This cooler was provided to me free of charge by Noctua for the sole purpose of delivering an in-depth, and honest review.

Great quality products, fit SG04-FH perfectly with the top fan removed. Come with extra PWM cables for my other case fans.
